Terms of Service

These are the terms between you and iDigital Group LLC (“we”, “us”), the operator of True Crime Case Histories at truecrimecasehistories.com. By creating an account or buying a membership, you agree to them. They’re short and we’ve tried to keep them fair.

1. The service

True Crime Case Histories is a membership giving streaming access to a library of narrated true crime stories and the related case material on this site. Visitors can listen to the opening of each case free; members can listen to everything in full. We add new cases regularly, and the library may change over time.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 to hold an account. The material here describes real crimes, often in graphic detail.
• Your account is personal. Don’t share your sign-in with others; each member needs their own account. Accounts that are clearly being shared may be suspended.
• Keep your email address current, since that’s how you sign in and how we reach you about billing.
• You’re responsible for activity under your account. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.

3. Membership and billing

• Membership is a recurring subscription, billed monthly or yearly in US dollars at the price shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• Your membership renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. We’ll email you before a yearly renewal.
• You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for; you keep full access until then and aren’t charged again.
• If a renewal payment fails, we’ll let you know and Stripe will retry. If it can’t be collected, your membership ends and you can rejoin whenever you like.
• Prices may change. If your price changes, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
• Sales tax or VAT may be added where the law requires it, and is shown at checkout.
• Refunds are described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

4. What you may and may not do

Your membership is for your personal, non-commercial listening. You may not:

• download, record, copy, redistribute, re-upload or publicly perform any of the audio, text or images, or attempt to bypass the technical measures that protect them;
• use the material to train machine-learning systems or to build a competing product;
• share your account or sign-in links with anyone else;
• interfere with the site, probe its security, or access it by automated means except for ordinary search engines.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where the breach is serious or deliberate, no refund is owed.

5. Our content

The stories, narration, artwork, text and the True Crime Case Histories name and logo are owned by or licensed to iDigital Group LLC and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Membership gives you a licence to stream them for personal use while your membership is active, and nothing more. The stories are works of non-fiction based on public records, court documents and published reporting; some are also available as books, which are sold separately.

6. Content warning and accuracy

These are accounts of real crimes, including murder and sexual violence, and may be distressing. We research carefully and correct errors when they’re brought to our attention, but we can’t guarantee every detail is complete or current, and the stories are not legal, psychological or safety advice.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the service available at all times, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We may change, add or remove features and content. If we ever decide to close the service entirely, we’ll give members at least 30 days’ notice and refund any unused part of a yearly membership.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude warranties of any kind, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by law, or our liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by email. We can close accounts that break these terms. Sections 4, 5 and 8 continue to apply after an account is closed.

10. Changes to these terms

If we make a change that affects your rights, we’ll email members at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don’t agree with a change, cancel before it applies. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, and any dispute will be handled by the courts there, except that if you live in the UK or EU you keep the protection of your local consumer law and may bring a claim in your own country. Before any formal step, please email us; nearly every problem can be sorted out that way.
